National Apprenticeship Week 2021

Its National Apprenticeship Week, and things have come a long way from the day that I started my Apprenticeship, back in 1979. However, I remember it fondly I gave me some great grounding and training which has been useful in my adult life.

What makes a good apprentice?

The UK Scouting spoke to Dean Whitehead Technical Training Instructor at UK Power Networks about the value of apprenticeships.

Among lots of other interesting items Dean says “Adapting to change, problem solving, and decision making are also key attributes working as a craftsperson for UK Power Networks. These are all valuable skills young people learn at Scouts which can be taken directly into an apprenticeship.”
