Scouting

Scouting started in the UK, in 1907, Shireoaks has a long history of Scouting in the village. Scouts in the UK comprises of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Scout Network. This covers the age range of 6 to 25 years. Our UK HQ is at Gilwell Park, located in Epping Forest. Scouting is where young people make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills (SkillsForLife). It is important that you know that everyone is welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability, there is an adventure in Scouting out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it.

Our Village

Shireoaks is an expanding village, near the town of Worksop, in North Nottinghamshire. We are on the Sheffield to Lincoln Railway line and have a small railway station in the village. Shireoaks also has the Chesterfield Canal running east / west through the village. We are a former coal-mining village, and the former canal basin is now Shireoaks Marina. For more details please have a look at our village page.
